About Kirsti Norris
I have always had a deep interest in environmental and social issues, and early memories are of watching images of Greenpeace putting themselves between the harpoon and the whale, or spraying baby seals with paint to make their fur worthless. At 16, I started to work with environmental NGOs, and over 15 years learned a lot about sustainability issues and communicating to different stakeholders.
Â
I decided to follow my passion in my studies, and achieved a first class degree in Environmental Quality and Resource Management. In 2003 I became an Associate of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). In 2007 I achieved a Masters at distinction level in Responsibility and Business Practice from the University of Bath.
Â
I now have over eighteen years experience working within the public and private sectors in environmental management, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility, as well as within consultancies specialising in energy efficiency and behaviour change. Â I am also presently Carbon Action Manager at UWE Bristol.
Â
I love facilitating events that allow delegates to engage deeply with complex issues. I now train others to do the same, running the Facilitator Development Adventure with Jenny Mackewn and Chris Johnstone. Â I also hold workshops for individuals to rekindle their passion and purpose (www.findingstrength.org.uk).
